Adjective: acting or done without forethought.
This is the way I am starting this post. I thought it was time to jump on the blog wagon! I'm not going to pretend that I am good at this or even that I will remember to post things very often, but I will give it my best shot!
Impulsive is what your dad and I were this past weekend. He came home from work and I knew he was tired but I asked him this simple question. "What do you say we go to Sun Valley tonight?" To which he replied, "Go pack your bags!" You could have blown me over with a feather! We never have done anything so impulsive and spontaneous before. It sounded so fun and we didn't have anything going on so we hurried and packed and took off. Our friends the Herburgs were up there for the week and had asked us to go but things didn't work out for us to go. Sometimes work just gets in the way. Anyway we wanted it to be a surprise for them.
We left around 6:30 and didn't get there until around 11:30. I did really good at packing but I forgot the most important item. What could that be you say? Make-up! Can you believe it? We had to stop in Twin falls and get all new make-up for me. Can't say that was horrible though because it's always fun to try new colors. But, what a rediculous thing to forget!
We continued on our way and got to Sun Valley around midnight. Midnight I will say again. We had no clue where we were going to stay because we didn't call for a reservation! Did I say it was midnight? Well they roll up the sidewalks early around there and there was no place at the inn! LOL! We drove around for about an hour and couldn't find anywhere to stay. And we thought about calling the Herburgs but remember we wanted this to be a surprise but a surprise at 1:30 in the morning wasn't the way we wanted to surprise them soooooooo we drove all the way back to Twin Falls, 70 miles away and luckily found a room at the Days Inn. It was a smoking, handicap room! Now it wasn't all that bad, I couldn't smell any smoke and it had a nice roomy bathroom. Remember, it was a handicap room equipped with bars in the shower so we wouldn't fall down and a low sink and mirror. But at 2:00 in the morning we thought it was heaven.
We called the Herburgs the next morning and asked them where they were going for breakfast. They couldn't believe we were there but were so excited and surprised. Here are some things we did while we were there:
We walked around town just taking random pictures. You may think, wow, what was the photographer thinking when they took that picture. But, sometimes we just like to take weird and unusual shots.

There is a thrift store in Sun Valley we like to go to. It's called the Gold Mine. They have lots of cool and unusual things here.
Dad bought a great Taylormade 5 wood and cover for $15.00! And I bought these bottles and this metal basket for $4.00. Don't know what I'm going to do with the bottles but I have a few ideas. First I need to empty out the lovely crap in them. Got any ideas what I should do with them? I kind of like the basket just like it it. But tomorrow I may change my mind.

Saturday night we went to the Ice Show at the Sun Valley Lodge. They were celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Sun Valley. It was terrific! Mark Hamel was the emcee. Here we are getting his autograph.
There were a lot of skating celebrities skating that night. Here are the 2010 Olympic Silver Medalist's, Charley White and Meryl Davis. The show was fantastic!

We had a great time! We did a lot in just one day. Would I do it again? You bet! It was fun being impulsive!
