We had an incredible and busy summer! Our whole family was together (all but Ben - he started a new job and couldn't take the time off). Matt and Karen and the kids were here from Shanghai, Brett and Melanie were here from Sacramento and Ali and Nixon were here from Seattle! Here are some of the things we did:

5K Run at Sugarhouse Park!

It is starting to be a tradition that whenever we are together they like to run in a 5K race. This year Matt, Melanie, Annie, Ali, Kevin and Megan all ran in the race at Sugarhouse Park. They all did really well and all made it to the finish line. It was a hot day in July and really sunny but they all enjoyed it! We are so proud of all of you. Way to keep in shape!

We played "spoons" and really had a great time.

It got down to only Matt and Annie still in the game.

Annie played the game like a champ and tricked Matt on the very last hand!

He had to bow to the "Queen" of Spoons! He was really taken by surprise by her strategy!

Needless to say, Annie won!

Hiking At Albion Basin

Last Sunday we went for a ride up Little Cottonwood Canyon with Kim and Debbie Herburg.

We went up to Albion Basin because we heard that the wild flowers were in bloom

and we wanted to see them. We went on a hike to Cecret Lake (or at least that was our destination). The mosquitoes were buzzing everywhere and attacking us so we didn't quite make it to the lake. But the scenery and the wild flowers were beautiful!

We also found this mother moose and her baby while we were there.

Aren't they just incredible? It didn't seem to bother her that we were taking pictures but no one dared get too close.

We are so fortunate to live so close to these beautiful mountains and all their glory! The mountains were covered with beautiful summer wild flowers but soon these same mountains will be covered with the beauty of fall!
